The Opportunity

We’re working with a fast-scaling, AI-driven B2B technology company entering its next phase of US growth. Backed by strong product momentum and deep technical credibility, the business is now investing in building a sharper external narrative and a more visible presence in the US market.

They are hiring a Communications Lead to own this function end-to-end.

This is a senior, hands-on role — the first true communications leader in the business — with direct exposure to the executive team and real influence over how the company shows up externally.

The Role

This hire will sit within the marketing leadership team and take ownership of external communications, narrative, and thought leadership. You’ll work closely with product marketing, demand gen, and the C-suite to shape positioning, manage PR, and elevate executive and company voice.

This is not a traditional PR execution role. It’s a strategic communications leadership position for someone who brings opinions, judgment, and momentum.

Key Responsibilities

External Communications & PR

  • Own and direct the global PR strategy, working closely with external agencies
  • Shape stories, angles, and points of view — not just distribute announcements
  • Proactively identify trends, moments, and narratives worth commenting on
  • Challenge agencies when coverage isn’t landing and push for stronger outcomes

Narrative & Positioning

  • Partner with product marketing to define and evolve the company story
  • Ensure consistent messaging across press, website, content, campaigns, and launches
  • Help articulate how the company fits into (and shapes) an emerging AI category

Executive & Spokesperson Enablement

  • Build strong public profiles for senior leaders
  • Develop POVs, talking points, and commentary for media, podcasts, panels, and social
  • Confidently push executives to engage when timing matters

Modern Comms & Owned Media

  • Expand beyond traditional PR into owned and earned channels
  • Support executive and employee presence on LinkedIn and other platforms
  • Activate customers and internal teams as credible external advocates

Commercial Awareness

  • Understand how communications supports demand, credibility, and pipeline
  • Partner with demand gen and events teams to align narrative with GTM priorities

What We’re Looking For

  • Senior in-house communications experience at a scaling B2B tech company
  • Exposure to emerging tech, AI, data, or similarly disruptive categories
  • Experience shaping narrative during periods of growth or market repositioning
  • Strong executive presence and comfort influencing without formal authority
  • Opinionated, proactive, and comfortable operating with ambiguity
  • Passion for AI and technology — professionally and personally
