Position summary:
We're seeking a commercially focused B2B Marketing Manager to cover a 12 - 14-month maternity leave. The successful candidate will support the commercial (sales) team in driving business growth, lead generation, client engagement, and proposition development through impactful marketing strategies and content. This role is not a like-for-like replacement but a shift to support the evolving needs of the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated B2B marketing campaigns aligned with commercial objectives
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to the Marketing & Events Executive, ensuring alignment with commercial marketing priorities and professional development
- Collaborate with sales leadership to understand key client/prospect segments and tailor marketing efforts accordingly
- Contribute to marketing strategy development, including campaign planning, messaging, content strategy, and proposition refinement
- Create and deliver compelling thought leadership content and events programme to support lead generation, client engagement, and brand authority
- Own and manage the overall events calendar, including strategic planning and coordination of trade shows, industry conferences, and high-impact owned events
- Contribute to and maintain a structured, strategic content and campaign calendar that supports ongoing engagement and conversion across key client and prospect audiences
- Develop creative marketing assets using the Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) to support brand consistency and campaign delivery
- Provide support and input to digital marketing initiatives, including CRM campaigns/email automation, and social (organic and paid), SEO, and website optimisation
- Develop and manage account-based marketing (ABM) activity and targeted owned events (e.g., roundtables, webinars) to raise awareness and engagement with key clients and prospects
- Support the development of new value propositions, market positioning, and client-facing collateral
- Measure and report on marketing performance against commercial goals, using insights to refine strategy and improve ROI
- Maintain brand consistency and act as a quality gatekeeper for commercial marketing content
- Work closely with the Communications and Digital team members to align messaging, campaigns, and content across all channels
- Brief and manage external agencies or freelance support if required
Essential Skills:
Proven experience in a B2B marketing role, ideally at manager or mid-senior level, with a strong focus on supporting commercial and sales functions
- Demonstrable experience developing and executing brand, marketing, and lead generation strategies across multiple channels
- Strong content development skills, with the ability to produce high-quality materials (e.g., articles, white papers, client proposals, and video scripts)
- Understanding of digital and performance marketing, including SEO, PPC, CRM/email marketing, social media, and website CMS (e.g., WordPress)
- Strong understanding of audience segmentation and campaign targeting to engage, inform, and convert
- Prior experience managing or mentoring direct reports, with a collaborative and supportive leadership style
- Experience managing and optimising marketing budgets and measuring campaign effectiveness
- Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and digital tools
- Confident communicator with excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage and inspire senior stakeholders
- Highly organised self-starter with strong prioritisation and project management abilities, comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Up to date with emerging digital and social trends, with a flexible and positive attitude
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, tech, or other regulated B2B sectors
- Familiarity with ABM tactics and tools
- CIM qualification - certificate or above, or equivalent marketing qualification
- Experience with marketing automation systems, WordPress, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, LinkedIn Campaign Manager)
