The story of ClearScore

ClearScore is one of the UK’s most widely used fintech platforms, helping millions of users take control of their financial wellbeing. As the brand continues to scale internationally, their creative output plays a vital role in how they engage, educate, and retain users. 

In 2025, ClearScore created a brand-new role — Senior Creative Strategy Manager — designed to sit at the intersection of creativity, marketing, and user engagement. As it was a newly defined position, the brief required extra care, clarity, and collaboration. 

Challenge: Hiring a newly created strategic creative role

Because this was the first role of its kind within the team, the scope and seniority evolved throughout the process. As is often the case with newly established roles, part of the process involved testing candidate levels, refining expectations, and aligning the role with market realities. 

Given our long-standing relationship and previous success, ClearScore asked us to lead this search. The trust built over several years meant we understood not only the role, but the business context, team dynamics, and level of talent required to make this hire a success. 

Solution: A collaborative, insight-led search

Working closely with Director of Performance Marketing, Marc Waxman, recruitment consultant, Olivia Wilde, began by mapping the market in detail. This produced a carefully curated shortlist aligned to the agreed salary band, experience level, and capability brief. 

As conversations progressed, it became clear that the role carried more scope than initially outlined. Olivia identified a standout candidate — someone whose specialist knowledge and strategic maturity aligned perfectly with what the team truly needed. We worked collaboratively with Marc and ClearScore to explore how this fit could be achieved within budget and organisational structure. 

Result: A strategic creative leader joining ClearScore

ClearScore appointed their Senior Creative Strategy Manager — a hire that unlocks a fresh era of creative direction for the brand. This hire marks the beginning of a new creative chapter for ClearScore, and we’re excited to see the influence the successful hire makes.
