Our technology marketing recruiters partnered with the construction management software platform, DataScope, when the Head of Marketing needed to build out his marketing team. 

Based on our proven track record within the business and consultative approach, DataScope appointed us to lead both searches within the marketing team. Katie Scott worked closely with the business to appoint a Brand and Content Lead and Demand Generation Manager.

The story of DataScope

Founded in 2005, DataScope was built to improve how construction risks were controlled. Operating within the construction sector, they provide digital solutions that support project delivery and operational efficiency for more than 2.5 million users. 

At a pivotal moment for the business, growth plans required a more sophisticated and structured marketing function. They needed to drive demand, elevate brand positioning, and support long-term commercial objectives. 

Challenge: Building a scalable marketing engine in a constrained talent market

DataScope needed to make two critical hires to underpin the next phase of growth: 

  1. Demand Generation Manager 
  2. Brand & Content Lead 

The challenge was multifaceted as they sought candidates who could deliver immediate impact while embedding into the existing culture:  

  • A geographically constrained talent pool, with roles based in Cheshire rather than larger hubs such as Manchester or London 
  • The need to balance competitive salaries with internal budget parameters 
  • A strong emphasis on cultural alignment alongside technical capability

This created a highly selective and competitive search environment.

DataScope recognised the need to partner with a recruitment agency who could act as an extension of their business and provide guidance as the search progressed. Following our Advise, Attract, Develop methodology, Katie also leveraged her experience in tech marketing recruitment to refine the job specifications, interview process and assessment tasks. She prepared each candidate for their interviews and managed the offer, negotiation and contract stage through to completion. 

Result: Project completion within three weeks

Both roles were successfully filled within three weeks of briefing to offer acceptance. 

Across the two searches, six candidates were interviewed for each role before the successful hires were identified. Both candidates demonstrated a strong cultural fit, brought relevant marketing expertise and aligned closely with the long-term vision of the business. 

These appointments provide DataScope with the foundations to scale its marketing function, with both individuals set to play a key role in driving growth and brand development.
