The story of Bella+Duke

Bella+Duke is one of the UK’s leading natural pet nutrition brands, known for their mission-driven approach to pet wellbeing. As the business scaled its ecommerce and digital marketing capability, the need for high-quality in-house creative became increasingly important. 

As the business had struggled to identify talent directly, they decided to partner with our specialist design recruiters on this hire. Thanks to our pre-existing success with the company, they knew they could rely on us to deliver. 

Challenge: Finding a digital design specialist in a complex talent market

Being headquartered in Scotland presented a unique challenge. Bella+Duke needed talent with the right blend of digital, brand and ecommerce design expertise. However, the local talent market leaned more towards traditional, offline or integrated design backgrounds. While remote working was possible, candidates needed to be able to travel to the office once a month. 

It was clear the initial job advert and positioning weren’t resonating with the market. The brief needed re-framing, and the search required specialist, hands-on support. After several weeks of limited traction, they approached Yasmin Vachet to get the process back on track.
