Our Executive Search practice worked closely with Industrials REIT's CEO to headhunt a Marketing and Sales Director. This was a key hire for the company as they looked to increase customer acquisition and retention.

Industrials REIT is the UK's leading specialist of multi-let industrial (MLI) estates. Through a combination of technology and personal connection, they focus on delivering a quality experience for customers. They achieve this by creating a straightforward, supportive, transparent and frictionless process. Industrials REIT was acquired by funds managed by Blackstone in a deal which completed on 20th of June, 2023 for a total enterprise value of over £700 million.

Finding a customer-focused marketing leader

Industrials REIT strongly believes in the use of technology to improve customer experience. They achieve this through their use of the Hive platform and property search platform. As a result, they are incredibly customer-centric, and place their customers at the heart every decision made. 

When searching for a Senior Marketing leader, it was important that they had a deep understanding of the customer and how to enable technology in order to improve lead conversion and overall customer satisfaction.


Our search process

Our Executive Search practice worked in direct partnership with Julian, building an actionable brief, taking into consideration industry, category experience, competencies and location. The essence of the brief was demonstrable experience in marketing a physical product – ideally a location. 

3Search then built a market map of over 200 marketing leaders in the UK and, through a rigorous interview process, a shortlist of six relevant candidates was presented to Industrials REIT. John Whitley was appointed from that shortlist.  

We were impressed with the range and quality of candidates which 3Search presented for our Director of Sales & Marketing Role. They understood the brief well, and, when it came to selecting the candidate, were impactful with their advice. The hire was a huge success and we look forward to finding more candidates with 3Search in the future.
