Helping a start-up place design at the heart of their product strategy

Founded in London in 2015, Judge.me is now a global brand with offices in Casablanca, Morocco, and Lima. Their apps help ecommerce stores gather and display recommendations and user-generated content. 

Until this point, the business hadn’t prioritised design in its product strategy. Now, they had reached a stage in their growth where they needed someone to lead its development. 

The recruitment process was taking place towards the end of the year. So, it was important for Judge.me to move quickly to onboard their new Head of Product Design before the new year. 

As a new hire into the business, Judge.me had to first define the scope of the role. However, as they had limited in-house design experience, it was crucial to have the support of a specialist recruiter to define the job description. That's where specialist design recruiter, Yasmin Vachet, stepped in. 

Yasmin worked closely with the business to define the job description and understand the candidate profiles they were searching for. Her initial discovery work with the hiring team allowed Yasmin to deliver a strong shortlist within just five days. 

Since the role was time critical, they worked in perfect partnership to move quickly through the process. Once Yasmin had sourced candidates, Judge.me were very quick to respond with detailed feedback. This allowed the team to adjust the search parameters accordingly. 

Thanks to their efficient work, the entire recruitment process only lasted four weeks. This meant the successful candidate could get settled into their role before the end of the year. 

This role was a truly exceptional opportunity for both the Head of Product Design and the wider business. They're already hard at work refining the design output, implementing the rebrand and advocating for product design internally.
