Magentus products and services have been at the forefront of delivering health technology for more than 30 years. Their aim is to create a future where healthcare networks are optimised for better care. With offices in both the UK and Australia, the business has built a successful presence across the globe. 

Following the promotion of their Chief Product Officer into a global role, the company recognised the need to elevate the UK product function. That's where we came in. 

Challenge: Hiring a senior product leader in a complex market

Although the newly appointed Global CPO was based in Australia, our specialist product recruiter, Francesca Jackson, advised the business to search for their new Head of Product in the UK. 

The challenge to hire was multifaceted:

  • Time zone differences, with the hiring team based in Australia

Having known the hiring manager for over eight years, Francesca was trusted to deliver. She advised relocating the role to London to better attract the calibre of candidate required and rewrote the job description to tell the company’s transformation story and vision.

  • Salary benchmarking and competitor insight to align expectations with market realities 
  • Creation of a longlist and weekly CV presentations, offering candidates at different levels of seniority

  • Flexible communication across time zones, with early morning and late evening calls to accommodate Sydney and UK teams 
  • Face-to-face engagement, encouraging the CPO to travel to London to meet candidates in person
