The story of SBC

SBC is a global business bringing together professionals across the sports betting, gaming, FinTech, payments, and entertainment industries. Founded in 2009 by CEO Rasmus Sojmark, the company operates under three core brands - SBC Events, SBC Media, and SBC Advisory Partners - and employs over 140 people worldwide from its headquarters in London. 

With ambitious plans to grow in 2026 and beyond, SBC’s leadership team recognised the need for a new marketing structure to unify strategy across its Events and Media divisions. Previously led by two regional Marketing Directors, the business needed a single Digital Marketing Director to lead digital transformation and accelerate international growth. 

Challenge: Defining a new digital leadership structure

Reporting to the COO, the new Digital Marketing Director would lead a four-person team and take ownership of digital campaigns, channel optimisation, and content strategy. The role was newly created and critical to aligning SBC’s global marketing capability with its ambitious commercial targets. 

Given the scale of transformation and the need for a digitally native leader, SBC sought a search partner with:
