The story of Metropolitan Gaming

Metropolitan Gaming is one of London’s most prestigious entertainment and gaming groups, welcoming guests to high-end venues, including the Park Lane Club and the Sportsman Casino. With ambitious growth plans, the business needed to bring in marketing expertise to drive footfall and strengthen customer engagement. 

Challenge: Filling a critical role under time pressure

The Marketing Manager role was newly created to support expansion. However, the business was struggling to find the right calibre of candidates to join the business. With the search taking longer than expected, time was running out. Growth plans were dependent on the hire. 

They needed an experienced partner who could quickly connect them with high-calibre marketing talent. That's where specialist travel and leisure recruiter, Harri Goode, came in.

Solution: Market mapping and constructive feedback

Harri began the search by mapping the market to identify candidates with the right blend of experience, commercial focus and industry knowledge. Operating in a highly regulated sector, finding someone with a background in gambling was an added advantage.

The brief began with one Marketing Manager role, but Harri identified two outstanding candidates. Rather than choosing between them, Metropolitan Gaming decided to hire both, appointing a Marketing Manager and a Product Marketing Manager to accelerate their plans. This brought valuable expertise into the business and gave them the resource needed to deliver on growth ambitions.
